No, not housewise. That’s still going stronger than ever. Serverwise though, that’s a completely other story…
Some of you might have noticed that we were offline for some time. It couldn’t have happened in a more worse period, with everything around us asking for more and more time. It also happened without any warning whatsoever. And as this still is only a hobby, it took some time before I noticed something was wrong.
First, let’s get back to the beginning. Back then I didn’t know if this was going to be something I’d keep up with, so I searched and went with the cheapest host I could find, being a free one. Now I know there’s a saying “if you pay peanuts you get monkeys”, which in this case didn’t show until, well, now.
I’ll spare you guys all the technical details and stuff (boring as hell), but that does mean more work on the site that I didn’t foresee. That in turn implies that my editorial calendar ( which already was screwed big time) now needs a complete overhaul. This really is a bummer, but I’m glad it happened now and not in another year or so. The longer it takes, the more data needs to be migrated, the more complex things might become.
In short:
- Anything using mailing sent from the site is broken for now, due to the hosting. For instance the contact form is broken.
- First on the priority list now is searching for another hosting company. If any of you have any recommendations, please let me know in the comments
- New posts are postponed for now, until the above is resolved. A shame though, there’s so much I still have to get out in the open.
- For those of you that can’t wait until then, you can always sign up to the news letter. That way you’ll be the first to know when all of this is behind us and new content has appeared.
